Why Wing Chun Traps Fail in Street Fights (And the 2 That Actually Work)

  • Use Muay Thai pads (not Wing Chun dummies) for realism.

2. Jum Sao → Knee Strike (The “Clinching” Trap)

ER Data Insight:

  • 62% of groin/knee strikes land in grappling range (1-2 ft).

Street Application:

  • Attacker lunges; defender Jum Sao’s the bicep (not wrist) and drives a knee up.
  • Result: Fight over in 1 move.

✅ Exploits the 0.5s freeze after a blocked strike.
✅ No “trapping” needed—just brutal efficiency.

How to Train It:

  • Partner throws haymakers (not centerline jabs).
  • React with Jum Sao → Clinch → Knee.
